Today I was working with a coaching client as they prepared for a big interview.
It reminded me that for all the years I interviewed wholesalers, account managers, sales managers, internals hoping to move to external, etc. I always used the same interview questions.
And, generally speaking, most people hated them.
The problem is that too many folks expect to get, and receive, softball questions from interviewers.
The first question I always asked was, “Describe yourself to me using only one word adjectives”.
Even if you are not interviewing anytime soon, how would you answer this question?
Frequently the answers, and the order in which they are offered, speak volumes about you.
They also can provide clues to how you develop your PVP – Peerless Value Proposition™
Hopefully, as a great wholesaler, many of these would make your list:
- Persistent
- Smart
- Resilient
- Competent
- Organized
- Energetic
- Articulate
- Caring
- Helpful
- Cooperative
- Tenacious
- Affable
- Discerning
- Capable
- Resourceful

- Aggressive

- Tireless
- Inquisitive
- Coachable
- Driven

This isn’t a complete list to be sure.

Appreciate the addition Peter.

Interesting that the word Sincerity gets left off lists like this. I should be at the top, in my opinion.

Great point Rob. Thanks for the addition!
