You’re a bit restless.
You have a big presentation ahead.
Or your boss’s boss is flying in to ride with you for two days.
If you’re of the human wholesaler kind, to be nervous is to be expected.
And so might be a good, old-fashioned bout of anxiety.
When you experience some combination of worry, fear, feeling of impending doom, insomnia, nausea, and/or palpitations.
While I’m no MD, here’s a trick I read about (and use) that is simple, fast, and effective.
Plus, it doesn’t involve anything served by the glass or bottle!
Three steps:
- Breathe in for four (4) seconds
- Hold that breath for seven (7) seconds
- Exhale the breath for eight (8) seconds
- Repeat 2-3 times
Doing this exercise shifts the nervous system from a Sympathetic state to a Parasympathetic one.
If you’re like me, explanations of why it works are less important that the fact that it does.
Prone to feeling anxious?
Breathe my friends, just breathe.
