Living legend.
That’s a fair description of 98-year-old Norman Lear.
The creator of All in the Family, The Jeffersons, and a host of other wildly successful television shows, he was interviewed by host Sam Fragoso on his Talk Easy podcast.
Sam (asking Norman about a cancelled show): “You don’t take rejection in this industry personally?”
Norman: “No, it’s a piece of business that I wish hadn’t happened, I think that people made a mistake, and it is what it is – on to the next.”
“There are two little words we don’t pay enough attention to: Over and Next. When something is over, it is over – and we are on to next.”
“If there was a hammock in the middle of those two words, ‘over’ and ‘next’, that would be the best way of defining the expression ‘living in the moment’.”
Given all the stuff 2020 has thrown our way, a little more living in the moment would be a good thing.
Wouldn’t you agree?
