Time is at a premium.
For most readers, the confluence of work from home, family time and self care leaves almost no room in the day.
Worse, the day becomes a giant exercise in swatting flies.
When you find yourself playing defense all day, simply handling the barrage stuff as it comes at you.
Some will make an effort to time block their calendar, only to fall off the structured wagon when it feels too confining or difficult to maintain.
Which is why what I read in an article from the author of Indistractable makes so much sense.
Specifically, the concept of turning your values into time.
What if we approached our calendar, and time blocking, by first considering our three primary domains: work, relationships, and you?
Then we make decisions about what time in our day is to be occupied by each domain, before we began the task of filling the calendar with events.
I’ll let you read more in the article – and I do implore you to do so – as our ability to manage the day to day, and hour to hour, has taken on a whole new importance.
“People are frugal in guarding their personal property; but as soon as it comes to squandering time, they are most wasteful of the one thing in which it is right to be stingy.” ~Seneca
