As a kid, it’s the morning meal meant to simply find your next fix of sugar.
Perhaps, like you, Frosted Flakes and the ubiquitous cry of Tony the Tiger’s “They’re gr-r-reat!” became a staple of my childhood experience.
So, naturally, I was awestruck when I met Tony the Tiger, aka the voice actor Thurl Ravenscroft who for more than five decades spoke those indelible words.
While addressing a class of aspiring voiceover actors, he emphasized the importance of using your voice’s full range and capabilities to convey your message.
For wholesalers, particularly today when your live meetings are few and far between, it’s your voice – via phone or zoom – that now does an inordinate amount of the sales lifting.
In this perpetual 2D world (versus the in-person 3D experience we are used to presenting in), how you say it has never been more important.
Great wholesalers not only perfect the what they say, they are also attuned to:
- modulating voice volume for full effect
- using silence to underscore critical points
- articulation which connotes education
- expanding their vocabulary
This virtual world requires us to sharpen every available edge.
Particularly those that are often heard but not seen.
