You know I’ve been thinking a lot about over the course of the last week two, is how you’re going to be tested.
And there’s a lot of ways that you’re going to be tested.
You already have been tested, let’s be clear.
You’ve been tested by switching to a 100% virtual world,
You’ve been tested by how well you’re able to break through and communicate with advisors.
You’ve been tested, about how well you’re able to juggle work/home.
This is a test specifically that I’m thinking about.
And that is, as things begin to open up – and open up means very different things in California, than it means in Florida, than it means in New York.
I mean heck in New York, it depends on what county you’re in, in California depends on what county you’re in, if you’re in Chicago, it means still something different.
Where this test is going to come, I related to in an earlier episode.
When I talked about just because things open up, doesn’t mean that Merrill Lynch opens up their office, and if Merrill Lynch opens up their office, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the advisor opens up their office to you.
But I’ve been thinking a lot about peer pressure lately.
And the peer pressure that you may experience.
When you begin to re-engage with advisors, or re-engage with others on your team.
Everybody’s gonna have a unique idea about where they feel comfortable in terms of engaging.
Is it masks at six feet, or are you comfortable sitting next to somebody on a bar-stool.
But I know for certain that there’s going to be some peer pressure coming at all of us to attend the meeting, that you know that you have to attend, but boy you’re uncomfortable about attending.
Or when you’re finished with that round of golf, and three folks in the foursome want to go sit in the restaurant and have a meal because you can do that.
But you’re uncomfortable sharing that space with those people.
I just think about a lot about that.
I think about what’s coming in terms of how each of us individually.
As we begin to re-acclimate back into whatever normal is now to be defined as, whether it’s at the office in what was a cubicle that probably isn’t a cubicle the way it looked before, whether it’s at the airport, whether it’s at the car rental whether it’s at the hotel, whether it’s with reps and how it feels being with those advisors.
There’s a lot to sort out here, but that’s that’s what’s on my mind.
